Has anyone tried using a USB PC to TV converter with the I/O? I think it would be cool to use the I/O as a small flat screen television, but I'm not sure if it would work. Has anyone had experience using these converters? Is it impossible to use (by "use" I mean will it work good) without a powerful video card?
Expect the smeariest, jerkiest, crappiest video signal you ever saw.
The screen is crap, almost no video memory and a slow graphics chip to begin with.
BIG waste of your money to try this.
Yes, I have the Haupauge WinTV & FM Radio USB Model 621,
I paid $99, since have seen it for like $70-$80
It Works Fine. The Display can't keep up with motion.
Find a Win95 CD & Play the "GoodTimes" Video. You will understand.
I wouldn't want to Watch a Movie on the I-Opener, But News & Weather on the Road is Bearable.
I have the hauppage wintv-usb for my io (running k6-2+ @ 300) and the video is passable. Agreed, the lcd/memory is not up to snuff for watching movies, etc, but it is great for having in the kitchen and watching/listening to the news etc.
It seemed like a good idea. I should have known it wouldn't be an option when even the mouse trail ghosts. Who knows, when I have an extra $70-90 to blow, I may still get one just for grins. Even if I don't use it on the I/O I could use it on my computer.
