Ok.. i just got this iopener from Circuit City.. it has a grey encasement.. and it was 99 bucks.. so i figured why not.. it was an openbox buy.. (display unit) .. i didnt have to sign any agreements etc.. i asked if i had to.. the people there told me.. nah.. they dont do any of that.. that when you first boot her up and sign on.. it does all that.. well i have never connected it to a phone line.. nor do i plan too.. i have taken it apart.. and i dont have a Winchip 1 or 2.. i have a Rise 266.. also i think where you guys say there is supposed to be a sound chip.. there is nothing.. i have all the ide pin headers.. etc.. its confusing as ####!.. also i have no "goop" aka jbweld anyplace.. i did have the rivets in the back of the case however..

RE:How do i tell what i version I-opener i have? (modified 0 times)
Don't sweat what one you have. If it is a RISE 266 the hack is just the same, th drivers are just the same.
If it has a Yamaha sound chip it is a V4, if not a V5. The V5patch bios works in both.
