I am fairly new to the world of iopeners. I reciently found an i-opener on an open box buy at circuit city for $25 and had to buy it. I am awaiting my imod3 to begin my modificatiio but i am trying to find out what version iopener i have. What is the easyest way to tell. Is there a websight i can go to to find out? Any help would be appreciated.

No serial number/version info has ever been published, as far as I know. You are going to have to open it up to find out. If you got it recently, it's probably going to be a v5. If you cannot find a yamaha chip(left side of the m-board from the rear), you for certain have a v5.

There is a bios on ebay right now for under $10. I bought one from the guy and it works great. I also got one from badflash. Good luck. Feel free to ask more questions. I have a version 3 iopener with a winchip2 and am currently working on upgrading a v4b (like the one you have).
