Jailbait w/2nd USB port

Quite a while ago, I installed an Ethernet port on the 2nd USB port of the iOpener. I've had no problems with this setup in Win98. I would like to use this configuration in Jailbait as well. I know that Jailbait sees the 2nd USB port, but it doesn't setup the Ethernet driver to use it.

Does anyone know what to edit to reconfigure the port in Jailbait? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not running Jailbait, so I can't help you save to bump this topic to the top again, BUT..

I noticed on your page that you adapted roastbeef's method to run a jack off of the pads on the front.

Were you still able to use the front panel volume control to adjust the volume? Did your mod disable the other onboard speakers?

I've got a mobile media dock now, and would like to try running the two speakers there and the ones on the iopener together. If the volume slider worked too, that would be a definite bonus.

I would (randomly) guess that you need to configure a UNIX device (via mknod) for the second USB port, then use ifconfig (?) to enable ethernet on that device. The default setup uses eth0. You probably need to make an "eth1" that points to the second USB unit. (note: I'm not sure how USB devices are handled in the UNIX/Linux scheme of things - I was a UNIX systems programmer before USB existed... ).

I did Las_Vegas's mod to enable the speaker out. I did the circuit off board though instead of enabling the onboard stuff. I just picked up the signals from the LM483. The volume control still works on the front of the IO. You can also do it with or without the HP sense. The HP sense enabled will cut off the IO speakers. I'm using it for a car mount IO. Works great when played though a cassette adapter. I am using 220uF capacitors instead of 22uF. This basically just lowers the cutoff frequency of the high pass filter. 22uF would cutoff more of the bass response. I plan to add more detail this weekend. Or sooner if I get a chance.
