Great work!

But will you ship to Canada and how much will shipping cost? I don't suppose it'll be the usual $15USD...

Good news, but there's no mention of shipping outside the USA. Are you shipping outside the USA (specifically to the UK)? If so, what sort of shipping charges are likely?

Bummer. This new price has bumped me off the interested list

Does anyone know how many units became available and if Earth is the only liquidator to get these.

$125? I'd feel like an idiot if I spent that amount only to get a damaged unit with goo on the BIOS chip and no returns allowed. Sorry, I'm out too.

I agree with El_Kabong.
$125 + shipping+no info on version=not many takers.
Is it just me, or is there an invisible barrier once you get over $100?
$99 is one thing, $145 is another.
Sorry Codeman

A GOOPED BIOS is Not Refurbished !!!
It Is Defective ! & Easy to Spot, Look in the Memory Hatch.
They Need to Be Cut Out of The LOT, & Sold as Such.

$25 Dollars Less Than HSN was Selling New Ones with Warranty !
Is Asking a Lot in my Opinion. (But then I have a Few)
(Just some Hints for When "They" want Sells to pick Up.)

Thanks for This GREAT BBS & ALL of YOUR HARD WORK. * StarFish *

There is a real price barrier at $100. Every retailer knows that. It's called "price point".

For $99+freight, I would consider it. At $125+freight its out of budget. I could never get it through the "house finance committee" :(

Just a comment,

Thank you to Codeman for finding the deal. I personally appreciate all the hard work some people
put into this stuff. I could not have done it without. Any negative comment I have about this
pricing will be forwarded to Earth Computer Technologies.

Thanks,

Hell ya! I'd buy one for $99. It's amazing how much $26 makes when you're trying to decide whether or not to buy something you don't really need. I don't know anything about the 2001 ones, though, except that they look a little cooler than the one I have.

New MessageI-opener not really available from Earth (modified 0 times) pjrc
Profile | Email
Summary: Earth called me this morning, March 22nd, 2001, and they do not actually have these I-openers.

This is a copy of a message I posted in a similar thread in the Breaking News section.

I placed an order for three of these I-openers with Earth on Wednesday, March 14th, 2001. The guy who took my order assured me that they would ship that day by FedEx P2, so that I would receive them by Friday. I called at 4PM on Friday (FedEx almost always delivers quite early in the morning). They said the i-openers were being shipped between their warehouses, and that they would ship my order on Monday. They offered to upgrade the shipping to FedEx P1 (presumably at their expense), but I told them I would only have time to play with it on the weekend, so anytime before the next Friday would be fine. Yesterday (Wednesday, March 21) I intended to call them again, as once more the package did not show up... but I didn't get around to it until after 5pm. This morning someone from Earth called. My girlfriend took the call. Apparantly Earth does not have any i-openers. They said they had made a bid to buy them, and the bid was accepted, and then they were sold to someone else who bid higher. So apparantly Earth was lied to... though they told me the i-openers were in stock and ready to ship on March 14th, and again promised it would ship on March 19th, so it's hard to know what the story is. It is a fact that they called today, March 22nd, and apologized that they would not be able to ship any i-openers.
