What is the cheapest adaptor to plug an IO into a car (no do-it-yourself please)?
I used the search and just got confused.

If you don't want do it yourself, Radio Shack has a laptop power adapter for the car for $50. It worked fine on my IO for a 16 hour trip last weekend.

Buy an AC inverter...I have a rather nice Linksys one, 140 watt I believe...Costs about the same and can be used with anything, not just your i-op...Do be careful of cheap brands, I've got another 140 watter that ALMOST gives enough power to the power supply for the green light to go on and it to start working...it doesn't surge enough to start it I think. So make sure to get one that can surge at least 250.

mmm. Inverters are convenient, but incredibly wasteful. Why go from DC->AC (through the inverter) then from AC->DC via the iopener power brick. Trust me, you create a lot of heat as a byproduct, which is energy which eventually is gas your using to do absolutely nothing.

A better bet is to find a Laptop adapter for your car. It takes the unregulate (10?-14? VDC) and converts it to Regulated 19VDC. I found one of these for cheap off eBay. I was lucky. It was made for an older COMPAQ laptop. I'm not sure if you can find one, but they are out there.
