I have plenty of cable, what I need now are female connectors. Searched around on http://www.digikey.com, didn't find anything but I'm told it's there. Any pointers appreciated.

Check out http://www.jameco.com . Part no. 100386 . They don't have cable but they have connectors. Overpriced at $1.19, but they have them.
