Situation: I've got a V2 (gooped BIOS only) I-Opener, with the prefect Serial Mod, and a 1.1G Hitachi drive. Base operating system: RedHat 6.2. I'm upgrading the kernel to 2.2.19.
Problem: On a 486-33 (20 megs) and a "virgin" RH6.2, 2.2.19 compiles, boots, etc. On I-Opener, kernel 2.2.19 compiles, boots, but does display anything related to the boot process past the LILO prompts.
Symptoms: Boot to kernel 2.2.14-50 (RH boot kernel) - No problems.
Boot to kernel 2.2.19 (New kernel) - LILO prompt, select kernel, hard drive spins
for a few seconds, I-Opener logo changes color to purple and moves 1" up screen. The
usual boot process noises are heard. Leave alone until done. Can "blind" log-in to machine (without anything on display except purple logo), type in commands (ls, du -s, etc) and hear drive functioning. type in 'reboot' and machine reboots. Again, no video screen output.
Solutions, anyone?
