Yes, this is *still* true. I just received the K6-2+ from Tigerdirect for 34.99.
Their site has a part number with the letter P, but the part you receive is not the K6-2P, but rather a K6-2+ or to be really specific AMD-K6-2+/450ACZ.
The top on my chip appears to be perfectly flat - no "dimple" as described elsewhere. Date code? A D038BPMW.
There's a good joke here too. I have an older K6-2+/450ACR. Both are copyright 1999 and both say assembled in Malaysia, but one has a Microsoft logo that says made for Win95, and the other says made for win 98! Now which one was it really made for?!?
