I think I'm using an iopener v3, 3.5, 4 or somethin like that. for some reason when i loaded win98 , it did not detect anything at the sound area, i looked and where a sound chip I think is supposed to be, theres a blank white spot, Can someone please shed some light on me as to what might be wrong or is this chip integrated or somethin?

Sounds like you have a version 5, look up and to the right edge, there you should find the AD chip. All the versions have sound it's just that V5 has a AD sound chip instead of Yamaha.

Per you picture http://voltron.slowasballs.com/~pete/soundchip2.jpg look down and left, about in the 7:00 postion
