Firewire to IDE adaptor
Interesting find!

I know very little about firewire IEE1394.

Seeking opinions,
I recently scored on a smashed Sony "Spressa" external firewire CDR/RW drive on one of my "Salvage ventures".
The CDROM drive itself was totally wasted, Hammer marks right in the center of it.
but taking it apart I was able to salvage the undamaged IDE to Firewire interface card and power supply board.

My thought and question is... can the IDE side of the firewire card be connected (With an adaptor, reversed cable, etc)to the IDE (slave) of the I-Opener instead of a CD-ROM drive?

Would be nice to have the increase Data transfer rates.

Just seeking opinions and picking brains...

nope, you can't reverse the way it's desgined for plugging cdrom or dvd or hard drive to firewire port on pc with plug in firewire card or mac g3-g4-g5 but if you want to sell that to me it's fine ill take it off email me at vwbug19@worldnetoh.com

firewire are good up to 400mbps but nw usb 2.0 is going to beat that by 480mbps!
