Trouble Using New iOpener
iOpener Tutorial

I just unpacked a recently purchased used iOpener. After I powered it up, it launched the blasted tutorial, and then proceeds automatically to a review of features which forces you to send an email. Then, because it cannot connect, it reads "Please wait a moment while i-opener updates", where it seems to stay forever. In other words, I can't escape this nasty tutorial-email-update loop, even to input the info for a working ISP. Ugly. Any help would be appreciated.

What are you trying to do? If you want to boot a hard drive, you'll need a new BIOS chip...see the Badflash.com link at the top of the page.

Thanks for your reply. I am not a hacker -- yet, anyway. Though I may eventually want to add a hard drive, right now I am just trying to see if this thing will work at all, and all I can seem to do is "enjoy" the tutorial over and over and over again. I understood from reading online that it was possible to connect to any ISP without a special login script or software. But apparently the machine is attempting to dial iOpener?

While it might have been possible in the Past,
I don't think anyone has reported this lately.
Since, what We Here, refer to as Version 5,
You Need a New BIOS Chip as ckbone posted.

While you wait for others to Reply,
I would suggest the Search Function,
If You would like to Read about your new purchase.
