Linux hates me. I swear it.
Help neema battle the OS demons that plague him.

I did a few searches but didn't find much information that pertained to me.

My situation:

Just modded everything yesterday night. Put the hard drive into my laptop, installed mandrake, replaced it into the I-Opener. It loaded just fine, but once it got to login, it started to have this weird problem. The screen would blink from blank to normal a few times, and then it'd give me some Init x error and say it's going to end for 5 minutes. 5 minutes later, it'd begin again. I also couldn't startx for anything, and my brother decided to inform me that "Mandrake is trash" so I decided to go with redhat.

Just installed redhat, it's even worse.

It gets to grub, starts to load redhat, and then immediately restarts. Over and over and over again.

Any ideas of any help (Action figures and my first born to whoever helps me)? Please keep in mind that I don't know much about linux and I know even less about it's installation, so assume I know nothing (read: I know nothing).

Thanks alot.

Well, to anyone reading this now, this is how you fix it...

Log in as root under mandrake, run "XFdrake --expert" and it'll run fine.

Don't know about redhat.

Neema,
What did you change in "XFdrake --expert" to get the kde to work? Which setting works with the i-opener?

TIA,
Ragnar
