Dual Boot Question

Gang,
I am in the process of loading Mandrake 8.0 onto my I-openers. At the moment, I want to dual boot both Mandrake and Windows 98se. To get Mandrake to load, though, I've had to drop the processor speed by 50 mhz. Has anyone else had this experience, and if so, is it typical of all Linux OS?
Thanks in advance,
Ragnar

Thats rather crazy, is the processor not the one that came with the iopener?
I'll bet your problem is mandrake specific. I've seen enough people have weird problems with it, that I would not recommend it to anyone, try switching distributions.

Having to change your clock speed is absurd.

I am not using the stock processor. I am using a k6-II 550 mhz. 98se runs at 550, Mandrake only at 500.
