I've been looking around for a dislay KIT just like this one http://earthlcd.com/SK2005R.HTM for a couple months now! I've been to the Earth Website but missed this one kit.
I have a nice Toshiba 2505-s202 DVD P-III 700 notebook that was tossed because of a shattered Lcd screen. I removed the entire screen and was using it as a "all in one" desktop. Had the VGA output of the notebook hooked up to a 15" Mag LT501 LCD but got tired of it and shelved the whole project.
A 12.1 Active matrix screen will fit better in my car. (I was considering a 5.5" display but these old eyes don't see as good as they used too)I can then mount the Notebook halve under the dash and use a IR Keyboard...Make an extention cable and housing for the DVD drive and LCD . Hmmm....lots of possibilties! (I do have access to a plastics fab shop)
