I am attempting to setup UltraBoard 1.62.5 and have run into some errors/misconfiguration. The files are in my cgi-bin, ascii transferred. I can't get the setup.pl script to run, but the UltraBoard.pl script does run.

If anyone knows anything on this topic, I would be very grateful as there doesn't seem to be any ultraboard help out on the net. If you like, email me at dag@mad.scientist.com_delete_this_extra_bit

First check the chmod settings.

If you've done that, check the absolute, cgi & other paths.

Then check your server log, it may give you some idea where the error has occured.

Ultrascripts seems to be down, where did you download the file from?

One more bit.

Unless you actually paid for Ultraboard and thus must get it functioning, you may want to try out Ikonboard.

Ikonboard is a free, up to date and well supported BBS, and I'd be remiss if I didn't suggest it as an easy to use replacement.

Kudzu, you can still get ultraboard there. Thanks for the help. I had considered UBB but prefer the look and feel of Ultraboard. I read your mind and found ikonboard. I'm having problems getting that to work also. chmod are all correct. I believe my problem lies in the paths and my tendency to keep working on something long after I should have gone to bed.

I'll see how things look in the light of today.
