Changing ISP setting on non-upgraded I-Opener

I just picked up a model np1000 that was never upgraded to be able to select an ISP. Any "simple" way to break into the code to enter my local ISP? Even if I accomplish this, will the existing browser work? OR will I have to load a new operating system also?
