Hey guys...
Picked up my V5 I-Opener from e-bay, got one without epoxy on the BIOS... Got a new chip and ID cable from Badflash and put on Jailbait. Then I went out to Best Buy and got a Linksys USB100TX adapter. I plugged it in, turned on the system, and it didn't work. Tried rmmod, insmod /lib/modules/pegasus.o, ifconfig eth0, the works. Didn't get any signs of life. Connecting the adapter just gave a message saying that usb.c doesn't recognize the adapter.
Then I searched on this BBS and found Programmer's fixed version of Jailbait that is supposed to recognize the Linksys adapters with the different hardware ID. I flashed it, and was happy to see that the adapter was recognized. But I still have no connectivity. Dmesg shows an error saying that the network cable isn't connected. I read in another thread that someone else has a similar problem.
Anyone know how to get past this hurdle? Here's a little more info that might help you help me...
--The adapter DOES work on my desktop and I can successfully transfers files.
--The lights don't come on at all when it's on the I-Opener.
--If I ping either of my other computers, the I-Opener just sits forever. Ctrl-C drops it back to the command prompt, where it reports 100% loss.
--Yes, I did set up the IP address, network, and netmask correctly. (Looked at the guide from jailbait.sourceforge.net)
--I've already read through http://www.linux-hacker.net/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl?Action=ShowPost&Board=technical&Post=2338&Idle=0&Sort=0&Order=Descend&Page=0&Session=trax.101694617055713
Thanks guys.
