Ive got a sony vio notebook from a friend awhile back
becuase is was toasted
check the processor out (amd k62+ 550 ) worked fine on my desktop
and i believe the tft 12" display is good too , so was the hdd and the cd rom drive
Bad system board
can I use any of these components on my iopener
or should (does it work without flipping switches) throw in a k62 200mhz processor in it instead
any ideas let me know
you can reach me at lpoehler@austin.rr.com
I can get get plenty more i/os if needed
oh and its a v5 i believe ( rise processor and strange sound card ) but the sound works fine in 98 se)if you only knew
amd k6II and hard drive is a definite "YES" in a V4b ar V5 iopener. Drop in and flip a switch and you are good to go.
Need to know more about the cdrom to tell, though. What kind of connector is on the rear end of the drive. A standard 44pin ide is the only one that is known to work without modification.
