Hey ckbone, I have a question about a mod you did.

I was looking over the mods that you took pics of on yahoo and I noticed that you used a Kingston Turbochip 400. I did some very light reading on that chip and noticed that it automatically adjusts the voltage and the clock multiplier.

Forgive me for asking a stupid question, but does that mean that you didn't have to perform the CPU hack since the chip takes care of that for you?

Along that same line of questioning, do the PowerLeap products do the same thing?

or the Evergreen Spectras?

Just wondering. I am very hesitant to perform the CPU hack.

Powering the turbochip is the challenge.

Here is a link that will help you a whole bunch:

Yeah...it was a drop-in mod. You just need to power it from an external source. Works pretty well, a very easy cpu upgrade.

Thanks piperpacer and ckbone for the answers. After looking over the answers and the link I figured out one way to externally power the chip, but having it run internally would be pretty cool... which leads me to my next question. I have the prototype V1 and was wondering if there was a scan of another V1 out there that I could compare it to. I have this extra connector that is next to the backlight connector that is labled cn6. It doesn't have anything in it. The connector that everyone refers to as the backlight connector is labled as either cn5 or cn4 on mine. The two labels are right on top of each other and it is hard to tell which number is supposed to be pointing to that connector. Anyone got a scan of a V1 I could look at?
