Best drop-in CPU for V1?

Hi,

I have an unhacked V1, no QNX on it, and I'm going to finally get around to this project.
I have the harddrive, cables. adaptors, fan, etc, but really want to make this an MP3 player, so assume that Linux and a faster CPU are the way to go.... so what CPU-s are straighforward drop-in replacements??

I have read that the K6-2 series should be - will the K6-2/500 simply work?

Alternativley, any soldering guru's in the Boston area want to give me a hand for some beer and pizza? :)

Cheers,
Andrew

If I remember correctly the V1's only drop-in replacement is a Win Chip 2, you have to solder to get others to work.

There is always a kingston turbochip or a powerleap that you can use but you haveto cut a hole in the back of your IO for the fan and capacitors.
