I bought two of these things when they first came out. V2's...just had goo on the bios and that was it.

Sold one not too long later, and now we are at present. I've moved cross country TWICE, and finally I'm ready to do something and it won't power up. Dead as dead gets. Really really sucks.

So I'm looking for another. If anyone has one they'd like to offload I'd appreciate it. Doesn't have to be hacked much, if at all. Just going to NFS mount my iMac's drives downstairs.

Anyone? :)

Please? :P

This is the version 5 unit that was bought with no epoxy on the bios and no pins cut on the mother board. I hacked it in March 2002, and since it has received a variety of upgrades and additions. This I-Opener is equipped with a 3GB hard drive, 128 MB of RAM, updated badflash BIOS, stock keyboard (ps/2 splitter if you want to use your own), USB Floppy Drive, AMD k6/2p-450 processor, stock 56k modem, integrated sound, USB port, LPT printer port, Microsoft XP installed, and Microsoft XP Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Express) installed. With all the parts and upgrades, this machine has cost me well over $300.

3GB HDD= $48
128MB RAM= $30
Cooling Fan= $25
IMOD2 kit= $25
Switched cable= $10
BIOS= $15
USB Floppy= $70
AMD K6-2P-450 processor= $45
I-Opener= $99

Not to mention the software (Windows XP, Office XP, WindowWasher). I’ve put a lot of time and work into this machine, but after I hacked it, I never used it, and it basically served its purpose to me by opening my knowledge of computers and now I have no need for it. *Some notes*: the RF shield is cut at the top to allow room for the hard drive and the cooling fan, and the actual plastic backing also has a 2”X2” cut out for the fan to circulate. ALSO, the cable connecting the hard drive may come slightly loose during shipping and wont boot right away, but you only need to give a little squeeze to the case around the hard drive and then turn it on again. This thing is ready to roll and can connect to the internet through AOL, if you have an existing account or if you want a free trial every 45 days, at least it will already be installed in case you can’t connect it to your pc or network to put the files on it.

You might want to try it again, I thought mine was dead, but it turned on when I tryed it again. I have no idea why it didn't work the first time.

Belive me. It's not dead!

Unplug the unit.Plug it back in. Boot. Keep on for 10 seconds. And repeat. Eventually you will get the screen.
