I have an i-opener that I purchased in 2000 for my mother. She no longer wants it so I have it now. I don't know what version it is but it can be setup with any ISP however, the email settings can't be changed. When I try to change the settings, it tries to go to the old netpliance website and fails. I would just like it to work as intended without modifying the OS. Does anyone have any advice?
Welcome ik. The part of the IO that would get e-mail and show the lights and such was specific to the IO. There would be no way of changing that w/o changing the OS. If you want to leave it as is and use your ISP I'm afraid your just going to have to goto HOTMAIL.COM or whatever to get your e-mail. Have fun!
Ya thats what I figured but had to ask. Thanks for the reply. Maby someday I'll try to hack it anyway. While we're on the subject, I did try to get to the QNX root prompt by the standard method of holding down the Home key and pressing the number 4 about four times but, no luck. Any suggestions about that? Thanks again for your input (inx3us).
did you ever figure out how to do this. I am trying to replace one i-opener for another and like here I can't change e-mail info. I can change to mindsping which they went to. dial in and get internet.
