Hi folks,
I've aquired a NOS(New Old Stock) I-Opener and am wondering if anyone has tryed to add PCMCIA funcionality? Or has anyone successfully added tv in/out?I would like to add tv tuner functionality so I may incorporate the I-Opener into my van as a Carputer. I have a old Goldstar VCP to play VHS.
I have notebook computers that I cold use,but would enjoy building something using my new I-Opener. I also have a LG Electronics Phenom hand held computer which I'm going to mod into indash gps/Mp3 Player..
Any suggestions would be appreciated

the dstn display of the i-o is not very fast and moving pictures at NTSC speed look like crap. if you run windows, you will notice mouse pointer trails without having pointer trail turned on. moving pictures leave a ghost behind on the screen display.
if you want PCMCIA you will need to do the compact flash mod and then use an adapter that will plug the PCMICA into a compact flash socket.
to use the NTSC video capability of the trident chip, you will need to find where the pins for tv go, wire them yourself and write the bios routine to turn on that capability in the display chip. nobody has ever posted anything about trying that.
