BadFlash Complete Adapter

Just ordered a bios chip and 40-44 pin Complete Adapter from BadFlash.

Have never seen one of these adapters. Didn't know there would be a power connector on it. Figured I'd need to power a 3.5" drive from an external source.

But, saw the following in BadFlashes shipping confirmation:
"DO NOT plug in the power connector on the complete adapter or the IMOD3 if
it is connected to the IOPENER!"

So, just wondering why the power connector is present.
Is it for use with other systems with beefier power supplies?

Because they come with them. I use a standard 44-40 pin adapter and didn't have the heart to cut it off. You may want to use it as a regular adapter. You do need your own IDE power supply for your 40 pin drive. The warning is as a result of some resourceful people plugging the plug into the IDE power supply and shorting out the IOPENER.
