If you have a Winchip Processor you have a V1, V2, V3 or V3A
If you have a Rise266 you have a V3B, V4 or V5
If you have a 2 position dip switch above the SODIMM socket you have a V4 or V5
If you have a Yamaha sound chip on the center left side of the board you DO NOT have a V5, all other versions use the Yamaha sound chip.
The version only matters for the sound driver for the V5

We sell everything you need at http://www.badflash.com
If you boot up with a dark screen that just says "IOPENER" you need to update the bios by either sending the chip in for a reflash, or getting a fresh one.
The IMOD2+ chips is your best bet. You get a splitter, mounting bracket, cable and chip. You'll need to get a fan. We recommend the IOP 5V Lasagna Cooler from Tennmax

thanks so much for the replies! i have a rise 266 and it is a V5. today i was at Big Lots and saw a USB to PS2 (Y)Adapter that adds two PS2 ports to any computer (so the package says)anyway i bought it for 5.99 and hooked it up to the I-Opener, the mouse worked but did not function correctly, the keyboard seem to work fine through the adapter but again i only plugged it up for a short time still havent purchased the ide and bios chip. Has anyone ever gotten a USB - PS2 Y adapter to work with these things? i cant wait to get this thing going thanks for all the help

Think it's probably best to keep that single USB port free for other things, and use a regular PS/2 Y-splitter cable.

Don't forget though, that you will need to switch the leads (plug the mouse into the connector labled "keyboard" and vice versa). Because of the original pad-pointer integrated keyboard, the connection is set up bass-ackwards.
