Netpliance back from the dead?
New all-in-one x86 machine

Kent Savage is back with a new incarnation of the I-Opener, attempting to resurrect Netpliance (as a new company) in the process:

My own take is that it's too expensive and offers too little to differentiate it from a stock x86 machine to be sucessful, but it may survive in a niche market for quiet/cool thin clients or desktops - useful in hospitals, medical offices or law offices. Absolutely of no interest for repurposing, in view of the pricetag, but who knows? They may go bankrupt again and the machines may show up on liquidation.

Lo and behold, hip-e.com says it's out of business.
