| i got my v5 running win98 FINALLY... I had to use an old compaq presario 1210 laptop in order to get the OS on it because I had left my 250-IDE lap to desk converter behind. Anyway the hard drive that im using has got issues. Its an IBM 1.5gb hard drive and everytime i would go to install the OS on it, at the formating stage it started making a grinding noise when it would get to about 34% through, then terminate. I tried several times and finally i partitioned a drive with about 354mb thats all i could get out of it without it stopping. Then it really started acting up and making this grinding noise so i smacked it ( something I never do but was getting so ill with it i was just gonna get another hard drive ) - this was when i was using Ranish, it went past the point that it would usually lock up and formated then it screws up again. Well I have Win98 on my IOpener, and two other drives show up in windows, and its not making any noises at all. Has anyone had this prob with their HD?I was also trying to find the drivers for the Display and Audio if anyone knows where the link is please let me know anyway thanks for the help im glad i finally got this thing running - | |
