Ultimate? Yes! But Affordable?

Check-out this new offering from NEC. They are clearly targetting the business market but maybe they will do a commercial version.

An I-opener sufficiently modified to run XP is going to cost nearly as much as a used "Gateway Profile". Search for it on eBay. Basically, the same form with a 15" active matrix LCD. Details at: http://www.support.gateway.com/support/manlib/Profile/Profile2/8505195/05195.htm

That is a big waste of money. Even if you didn't need something portable a laptop would be a much better way to spend your money. You could even mod it if you want to look like one of those. I just bought my P3 1.2 ghz, 15" screen, 512MB, 20gb, DVD/CD-RW laptop for under $1500. Now I'm certainly not going to mod that, but if I was going to buy something like that NEC thing I would, and it would be much faster and cheaper. It would even have a built in UPS (the battery) and would be portable. That thing would be cool for way way less, but for the price NEC must be smoking some of that yummy liquid inside the LCD's.
