Please donate any old PC's (200mhz+ PII types) you have to the Vegas Free Mesh project.

If you can spare 30W of electricity and let us put up a small "pipe" looking antenna on your roof, that would be great. We can also set up a MeshNode using a upstairs window, we simply tape the small USB device to the top most area on the higest window you have. Most housing associations wouldn't notice the small pipe looking device, we can also use a small plastic box and mount it on a air conditioner so it looks like part of the air system.

Any other help or donations of equipment for this local network would be appreciated.

Feel free to e-mail me at
rfgeekdev (at) yahoo dot com

Thanks.

That's the point. No internet access needed.
This is *not* about internet access.
It's about going faster than cable, dsl.
It's about filesharing and network game playing at 2 to 4Mbps typical.
Some day it will replace the internet, but for now it's mostly for local things we can do.
Put up a MeshNode as soon as you can and then post here main cross streets so we know the area it's in.
Let me know if you need any help.
