Hi all!
A new wireless mesh/filesharing project has been started at SourceForge for low cost platforms. It's called "MeshNet".
We will be creating wireless mesh node networking software (aodv compatible) for as many low cost platforms as we can, such as I-Opener, WebSurfer, Gateway, old PCs, etc...
We will use 802.11 or other methods for transmission, storage can be HD, flash, DiskOnChip, or whatever is available on the particular platform.
We will also be modifying file sharing P2P programs, particularly Gnutella style aps, hoping to create a fast connecting file search mode for "drive by" car file sharing.
The project is all open source, Linux based, GPL.
If you would like to contribute any development efforts, let me know. I will personally be working on the filesharing ap mods for linux and windows. We have the full resources of sf.net to support any development and distribution of software and iso's. You can contact me via the project page at sf.net
