For those of you working with the Webpal in its original state, I have posted the software update for the modem version on my IIS 5.0 server, I will post the Ethernet version in the next couple of days. This update will allow your webpal to some websites that it wouldn't pull down before.
just point your webpal at this address.
http://64.169.54.34/modem.erx
On another note does anyone know of a free email service that uses the same server for Pop & smtp?
I've tried this twice and both times I end up with a dead webpal. It downloads the file, updates the flash and says it is going to reboot. From then on all you get is the red and orange lights flashing every few seconds. I was still able to use the serial interface and gdb to reflash the original webpal software back onto the unit.
In response to "does anyone know of a free email service that uses the same server for Pop & smtp?",
ISPwest.com has a free 15day trial period and uses pop3.ispwest.com and smtp.ispwest.com for ingoing and out going mail.Greg
