I just got myself a new WebPal. How do I use this? Can I hookup to my existing Dialup account? Also It came with a 33k modem, can I upgrade this to 56k modem? How about software and patches? Could someone please let me know.
I hope that is not to say most 56K modems aren't compatible with WebPal. This particular one for instance says a CD-ROM drive is required (http://www.usashopclub.com/shos/912456.html).shud i
The webpal hardware is very peculiar and isn't a complete ISA implementation, so when justdavej says he has found a 56K modem that works with it I would stick with the EXACT model that he found (and feel very lucky that something like that exists). The reference to requiring a CD-ROM on the page you linked to is to install the windows drivers for the modem (notice it also says you need Win3.1/9x to use the modem). The webpal won't need those drivers :).
Maybe you can post in justdavej's thread and ask him if the modem worked out-of-the-box (once configured to use IRQ3) or if there was any additional tweaking he had to do.
I´m from Brazil so forgive me for my mistakes...
I just got a used webpal from my older brother and I can not use it becouse he lost pin number for conecting to the net.
I would like to know if there is any way that I can boot the webpal so I can get those config windows as like a new user?
I don´t know anything about How the webpal works and I know Just a litle about Computers.. so be kind with me.
Thank alot,

people here run linux on webpals. so probably not appropriate if you don't feel comfortable with it. (modified 0 times)
well, people here run linux on webpals. not many people are interested in using it as it is. So if you don't feel comfortable with computer that much, your webpal wouldn't do much good for you. You would sell it on eBay.
