I followed the instructions to compile gdb from http://mtrob.fdns.net/~webpal/ but when I compile in the second stage I get this error.
-START-
rdi-share/libangsd.a(hsys.o): In function `HandleSysMessage':
/usr/src/arm/gdb-5.2.1/gdb/rdi-share/hsys.c:830: the use of `tmpnam' is
dangerous, better use `mkstemp'
libgdb.a(arch-utils.o): In function `generic_in_solib_call_trampoline':
/usr/src/arm/gdb-5.2.1/gdb/arch-utils.c:111: undefined reference to
`armcoff_little_vec'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [gdb] Error 1
-END-
Anyone have any clues? Am I missing a dependency for gdb?
Xeon, I had a lot of trouble getting gdb to build too. I tried several different versions. Ultimately, the only version I was able to build successfully was 5.0.
I didn't change anything in the source tree. However, I was building it on a somewhat older Linux distribution (Red Hat 6.2). I just tried building on RH 8.0, and that failed in stage 2. However, I was able to run the 6.2-built binary on 8.0.
Thank you soo much. that just took a load off my shoulders... everything seems to be good, now I think my serial interface isnt working
gdb says: Couldn't reset the board, try pressing the reset button
