Can anyone tell me why Bill uses io=0x080400300 for the address of the ne2000 card? I am trying to use a 3c503 that has io=300 and irq=9. I have recompiled the kernel to include this card as a module. When I try to insmod I get the message that the board cannot be found. I have tried the board with Windoze and it sets up with the correct address and irq. Is this something with arm that needs to be changed?
Because the isa bus starts at 0x80400000 so you need to add the cards io to that.. Im trying to use a 3c509 and im having the same problems.
I changed all the code in the driver for 0x80400000 addressing and ive managed to get the card up but I keep getting packet collisions.-Xeon
I'd be glad to make the changes to 3c503.c for you if you would want to test it? I don't have a 3c503...
BTW: The card should be set to irq 3 but the module irq parameter should be 9
