Nice job on integrating the two keyboard drivers. I've been using the new driver for the past few days, and it's working fine.

However, I'm having a keyboard mapping problem in X. When I start X (on Debian Potato), both keyboards work, but the keycodes are not being mapped to the correct keysyms. (This problem, BTW, has nothing to do with the new driver. It exists with the two original drivers as well)

So, I created a custom Xmodmap file that explicitly specifies every keycode-to-keysym mapping. Using this file, both of my keyboards work in X (with the small exception that a couple of keys like "scroll up" and "scroll down" are not working yet on the IR keyboard). The file is available on my webpage:

http://www.anycities.com/user/webpal

But, I'm also wondering if anyone else is having this keyboard problem in X, or if there is a simpler way to configure the keyboard mapping that I'm overlooking?

Yes, I see.

Also, F-keys in non X mode seem not to
work. I'll look into that, maybe even this weekend.

Scratchy, do you have a writeup/summary of how you installed Debian on your Webpal? I've never used Debian and the HOWTOs that I have found make a lot of assumptions about having CDROM drives and such. :)

This is to say, I'd like to try these changes ot the driver, but... :)

Thanks. It's the only thing keeping me from being 'done' with the 'get it working' phase of this project. :) I have one hacked up and running and 3 waiting for it to become 'production'. :) They might end up being X-mas gifts. :)

Hi all,

F-keys are fixed. Now they are:
Favs - F8,
Home - F9,
Search - F10,
Mail - F11,
Find - F12,
Edit - Insert,
Back - Del,
Scroll Up - PgUp,
Scroll Down - PgDown.

Only wireless keyboard is fixed, I do not use
PS/2 with Webpal anymore. But if anyone need PS/2 fix, I can do that too.

Available for download from http://www.luban.org/Webpal
patch against 2.4.18-rmk-4,
kernel binary+modules.

I'm open to suggestions for other unassigned keys usage, as well, as bug reports.
