CDROM?
Is it possible?

Well I was doing some thinking....probably very dumb idea...but I have an ISA IDE CDROM card and I was thinking I could take an old SCSI drive case and run the cable somehow into the webpal. Besides the physical installation of the drive, do u think its possible?

I have compiled the necessary iso9660 stuff
into the kernel, and have attached a 16x IDE
cdrom to the webpal, and it works ok. Not
bootable, though. I am using an external p/s
for the cdrom, and mount it as /dev/hdb.

sparcusMaximus, do you think it is possible to set the CDROM
to 'slave' and a hard drive as 'master', boot of the hard drive,
and still access the CDROM?

That is the way I have mine set up:

IBM djsa210 IDE master as /dev/hda
Toshiba XM-6002B IDE cdrom slave as /dev/hdb

Should work just fine, just remember, you
will need an external p/s for the cdrom,
because it uses 12v.
