Some misc. questions about Webpal/Linux

Ok, I ordered 3 webpals last week, and all of the parts for bigbrd's RS232-C adapter. I built an adapter last night and got it installed in one of the Webpals. I've just built gdb as specified in bigbrd's page, and I'm almost ready to hook up the Webpal to my Linux machine, but I have a few questions:

1) Do I need to use a null-modem to connect the Webpal to one of my Wintel serial ports, or just a straight-through serial cable?

2) When using wpflash, how do I specify which serial port to use, or do I have to use ttyS0? I've already got a device on that serial port. (Or, where would I get a parallel Lap-Link cable?)

3) Does anybody have any pointers to a good web page about setting up a GCC cross-compiler for ARM binaries? I'd like to be able to build my own software for the Webpal.

Thanks,
-Signals

1) I used a null modem.

2) Use the source--ttyS0 is hardcoded in, but you can edit and recompile for another port. I don't have a laplink cable anymore, but I'm sure you can find pinouts on the web, and build one yourself with a couple o' DB-25s and some wire.

3) Bigbrd has a link to a toolchain: ftp://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/pub/armlinux/toolchain/cross-2.95.3.tar.bz2
This worked fine for me. His bootp source is a good starting point for writing code to run under the EasyRider GDB stub.
