What PCI/ISA Cards are Thin Enough

New MessageWhat PCI/ISA Cards are Thin Enough (modified 0 times) Spectrum
I am wondering what cards you guys are using in you Dual PIC/ISA Card combo set up. Which cards are thin enough to be used in this configuration? I know that the netgear 310tx or what ever it is called it quite thin. Are there any ISA Hard drive controller cards that when the back plate is removed will fit with the Netgear.

I have three dif. old ISA IDE cards, 2 with Serial/Parallel/Game and 2 PCI baced nics. All combinations of the above fit and work fine so I don't think you should have a problem unless the IDE card has connector pins that line up with a tall component on the NIC. I did have to bend a set of 232 pins out of the way on one I/O card to get it to fit.

I think that most ide cards are pretty tiny, espceially the newer ones still made for the ISA bus.
If not, be a man and solder :)

I forgot to mention that I did have to desolder and remove the connectors that go through the back plate off the MULTI-I/O boards. I would suggest an IDE only card unless you want a game port as I did (still have to work on game port drivers and mounting the connector though case).

Most card are thin enough but the real problem is the Paralell and Serial ports. Solution- I cut the ports of my IDE Controller, it will not damadge the card if you will do it carefuly.

P.S. Check this WSP on Ebay i think it is pritty chip:

I have no trouble fitting a Promise66 PCI IDE with either the stock ISA modem or a ChompUSA ISA IDE controller. Getting the thing to squeeze off a complete boot from the Promise card is another story. :(
