Soldering Proposition
Anybody wanna make a little dough?

New MessageSoldering Proposition (modified 0 times) Tanny
Okay, I would really REALLY really like to get the onboard IDE header working, but I am by no means a soldering expert, nor do I understand much of the resistor talk. Is there anybody out there (Codeman, Hardware1, anyone else) who has successfully done the soldering that would like to do it for pay for someone else? I would cover all shipping charges of my unit to and back from you, plus $30 ~ $50 for you soldering time. I bought this thing mainly for playing MP3's through my stereo, web surfing through my TV, and require winblows so my fiance can use it too. From all the threads, USB to ethernet seems to use too much CPU overhead and causes too much skipping. I have a linux box acting as my fileserver, so I need to free up that isa slot for a nic card; hence, the need to get the onboard IDE header working. Anybody interested?

Anyone in Austin who will do it for me? I would ship it to someone outside, but I have 4 that I want modded and the shipping charges would kill me! Thanks!

I have mine overclocked to 266 and with the USB Ethernet D-Link adapter it never skips of f*cks up. It works great.

I'll sweeten my original offer to anyone in austin; if anyone can perfectly modify 3 websurfers for onboard ide for me, I'll give em 1 more that u can keep for yourself.

I'm available to do these. I routinely solder down high density quad flat packs, so these are a breeze.

I'm in Tucson, but the mainboards are easily removed and shipped cheaply, even several at a time, in a USPS priority mail box.

Email me at soldermyws@mccarley.iwarp.com
