Has anyone been able to get a websurfer or webplayer keyboard (they are the same) to work through a PS/2 port or other infrared port? If so, how?

Have You Tried "Search" ? ( it is easier when you know what you looking for )
I-Opener Technical Stuff / Has anyone gotten a WebSurfer wireless keyboard to work with their i-Opener?
Please consider adding to a Short Thread, instead of adding another Short Thread to my Search Results.

Here's what I did for a Few I-Openers. (You need this Module from the WebSurfer)
http://yourpage.blazenet.net/starfish/images/WSProIRmodule.jpg
Remove 2 Knockouts from back of WebSurfer & add 6 Jumpers to use standard PS/2 ports

Any Questions ? (Please stay in this Thread, Now that You have Started it)

Why do people allways get so worked up when someone starts a new thread? Thats what this place is for, asking questions.

I am Not Worked up.

The thing is, there are Not as many people here as there once was.
Searching is a Good way to find Answers to Questions that have already been covered.

> Thats what this place is for, asking questions.
Well, It's not my place, so I won't pretend to know it's purpose,
But Maybe, This Place is for Answers !
(Not for Asking the same questions over & over)

Oh, & your welcome

I figured out the pinouts for the IR daughterboard in the websurfer. A few of us then hacked the IR onto the PS/2 port of the Iopener to use the keyboard. It is still working great. Just realized that the first post has a link to the thread I posted the info in. I'm ttn1 and ttn2, just lost the password for ttn1 until yesterday.

What are the jumper locations to get the ps/2 ports working again? Thanks for the pic of the mod! I now have two desktop PC's running on modulators to channels on my home vid network and use the ws keyboards to control them. I would still like to use the ws's though for remote camera links to my cat 5 network and need ps2 functionality on those to set them up.

from memory CN6 has 4 Pair, they get Shorted (4 Jumpers)
to tie Keyboard & Mouse, Clock & Data signals to the PS/2 Port Connectors.
Wired Keyboard & Mouse & IR @ the same time Never Worked for me.

Please Confirm this Info before You Try It. Maybe someone else can Confirm it.
But in the mean time, it is easier to Search when you know what you looking for

Good Luck, * StarFish *

Thanks for the info!

Believe it or not, I did do a search for the word "ps2" in the websurfer areas and it did not turn up the article you referenced, even though the word is mentioned in it. Is there something quirky about the search that is not so obvious to me?
