hmm... heh gotta pull the file of the websurfer; Basically, theres two ways you can solve it;
You can either install the driver as other device, and pick the Cyrix Cx5520 device from the machine.inf file, or you can modify the machine.inf file to add the string from the Cyrix Cx5530 W9X inf file. I did the latter. I will post the updated machine.inf on http://wnt.cc.utexas.edu/~ericng - all you need is the inf file. It doesn't really very matter whether you pick the Cx5520 or the Cx5530, as Win2k installs the same device driver. I think this device is only a PCI/ISA bridge, although it could have something to do with why I can't run in DMA mode for my hard drives. This is all the hints/help I can give, as I do not post on this board often. I have gotten video to work nicely, but am working on a more elegant sound and IDE solution, as well as possibly getting rid of that floppy controller device.

I had 3 issues previously, 2 of them I've given up/have makeshift solutions.
Problem 1 - there's a floppy disk controller item in my w2k control panel. But there's no floppy drive. If i disable it in the device manager it still takes up resources. Tried using modbin.exe to reenable some kind of bios option to disable the controller, but couldnt find any option to modify. Gave up and just disabled device in win2k.
Problem 2 - no real working w2k mediagx audio drivers. There's NT4 drivers if you look hard enough, so I wanted to do a translation of the inf drivers to get them installed; I realized that whatever NT4 and NT35 uses, W2k uses those newfangled WDM drivers. So basically it'd be incompatible. The mediagx audio is SB16 compatible though, though some have had issues with its compatibility to say the least. So I just installed it as a SB16 audio and midi device.
Problem 3 - no real working DMA IDE I believe. I think I need to install the NT4 ide udma drivers to get that working, still working on some kind of translation inf driver.

Go here: http://www.gnetcanada.com/customers-downloads.htm

Check out the Memphis Auto PC. It's got a geode processor and media GX chipset. Download the Win2k/XP drivers.
