C-Usa won't sell these anymore w/o TOS (modified 0 times) C-USA_Hator Here is what happened to me (Jacksonville, FL) I went to purchase one (possibly more) of these nice boxes for myself this afternoon. After walking around a bit, and not finding any, I finally asked someone about the websurfer. After walking around looking for them, he checked the computer to see if they had sold out. He then tells me that they have 24 in stock!!! So, he goes to the storeroom to find one for me. 20 min later, he comes back and tells me that the manager said they had to pull them from the shelves b/c they are _defective_ and they have to be sent back....what a pile of b.s. He also says that when they do get the _working_ ones, you have to sign up for 2 yrs of service. Oh well, at least I tried..... 04-28-2000 17:21:49

At the CUSA off of Atlantic, they were willing to sell me a WebSurfer, but required a 2-year commitment to EarthWeb. At the Southside Blvd CUSA, I was told that the WebSurfer was discontinued. This was between 5:00 and 6:00 pm today (Friday). I think I'm going to try again tomorrow... seems like each CUSA employee handles this situation differently. 04-28-2000 18:04:59

I showed the manager the web printout and everything...apparently they just got a new fax today about it would not budge on letting one go for that price without filling out the TOS paper. It basically asked for name, address, etc and credit card info..then you signed it. Well, I finally 'gave in' and filled out....with totally bogus info!! The sales dude just wrote the serial number on the paper, tore off my copy and rang it up for me. No ID or CC verification necessary LOL. d-ude 04-28-2000 19:13:40

I tried to fill out the form with bogus info but when I got to the CC part the manager said he had to put in that info himself. I told him to "Get Fu#ked" and left.
