WebSurfer no longer on CUSA web site

New MessageWebSurfer no longer on CUSA web site (modified 0 times) Chuck
The title says it all. I could not find this mentioned anywhere else. The WebSurfer is no longer listed on CompUSA's web site.

I posted that just a few minutes ago. I'm wondering if they'll still sell it.

Yeah, I saw that it was gone too.. was wondering what happened? I searched for the sku number, the name websurfer, and innovator.. all to no avail. (yesterday you could just do quick search for websurfer and it came up) Anyone here that works for compusa hear anything yet? If they removed it due to us... I have to give them credit for being one of the quickest corporations I've ever heard of.

I still wanted to get one when the stores opened this morning, but without the site to back up my claims... I doubt I will be seeing one for $49.

Does anyone have a saved copy of that page or a screencapture (something for us to print out to take in)? Thanks in advance.

just keep in mind that there are trolls and finks reading--not that that will stop our fun!

I just visted the same CUSA that I got my iopener from and tried to purchase a Websurfer. As I walked up to the dimmest looking cashier I could find the store assistant manger came up to me and said "You know you have to sign a contract for a two year agreement or we can't sell it to you for $49.00?". I tried to use the old "It's a Gift" routine with no luck. I left the unit in the store and walked out.

Yes, we have trolls on this site that have tipped off cusa first on the website so that they pulled the off the website and now they have notified all of the store managers to be on the lookout for nerds carrying websurfer boxes to the registers.

Screw you trolls! I'll get my unit...somehow.

Story from Naperville IL CUSA:

Purchase in store for $200, contact and contract with Earthlink and receive a $150 rebate.

Think about it: the point is that we don't want a two-year contract, that's a hell of a lot more expensive than even the $200.

Interesting, I bought one from the same Naperville, IL store yesterday for $49.00. Walked into the store, grabbed a box, to the cashier, needed a manager override for the price (showed a printout of the web price), paid and out I go...all in 5 minutes. Did they caught on about the TOS ???

I don't understand why some say some stores seem to raise a fuss over some contract.
I just bought one more(This is my 4th one)from the MTLK TERR C-USA here in Seattle and just gave the cashier the SKU# and it came up $ 49.99 no mention of contract or nothing
There are about 9 left.....yesterday there was 12 after I was done.....I figured they would be just about sold out by now....

I really don't know what I'm going to do with "2" of the "4" but felt better to have than not to have...Maybe I'll return the 2 later on after things settle down and I have time to think about it. but then they do have some cool parts.....

here is my little bit of advise if you are gonna go try and defraud CompUSA.
http://www9.50megs.com/vex/websurfer/sku271198.htm
Save this link to your desktop then print the selection the part you want. This way when ie prits the URL at the bottom of the page it shows up as your hard drive not some 3rd party server.

You will also want to look and see that there are no banners on the CUSA site so remove them too... maybe take yer fav HTML prog and remove that part of the header that 50meg puts on every site
