I have started the upload of the Build image that was found on websurfer.com yesterday before they closed the site down. It appears to be the same build as what is in all the boxes. It is a 12MB image. If you hack it and find out how to get to QNX prompt, please post here.

The file info is

05/01/00 04:32p 12,590,364 BuildC-EVO-CD-1616-7_4N-US-N00-1-1-1_21-YY.zip

Codger,

I got a session timeout error ... I am not sure if the file has been transferred correctly.

Anybody had any luck restoring their QNX image from the one posted at the site mentioned above? I used the DOC utilities to load that .bin image, apparently successfully. On bootup (with IDE card *removed*), I get a boot fail message. Any suggestions?

try erasing the chip first with docpmap /e
also try loading bios defaults.
I have used this image many times and it works perfectly for me,
after you burn the image, dont do anything else. the image includes the boot sector and everything else.

Tried to get the file from FTP site, and it is unreachable. My Problem? or have other people had trouble too? Is this available from another site?

This may be a stoooopid question, but here goes...
When the DOC image available on the FTP site is extracted, it sure looks like a LOT of Windows files. Is this a QNX system? Or is it Windows squashed down to a 12 meg size? (Yes, I am very unfamiliar with QNX to be abale to know the difference)
Thanks,
Iggy

here is the name of the file

BuildC-EVO-CD-1616-7_4N-US-N00-1-1-1_21-YY.zip

you have probably downloaded the wrong file because this only contains one .bin file that is an image of the websurfer DOC in binary form. You must use the DOC toolkit to write the image to the DOC.

Thanks for the info. Got the image just fine. However I seem to have put a 16 meg something on the chip, and cannot boot from it, cannot delete it, and cannot reformat it. I have a teeny tiny 40Kb section that the DOC utilities let me format and do stuff with. even tried docpmap /e and still only 40Kb available. It seems I cannot get rid of this image I put on there. I'm ready to offer money just for a stock DOC!!!
Can anyone help with any info at all? Even if it is to tell me I have toasted the DOC, then I could at least go on with my win98 load...
Thanks,
iggy
