Flicker with HD access

New MessageFlicker with HD access (modified 0 times) Tony`
Anyone else notice a screen flicker when the hard drive is being accessed?? I got my power for my 3.5" HD right off the the power supply. Only seems to do it on bursts...maybe need to go in and adds some caps across the power leads...

Any ideas??

Tony

I've noticed some video trash occasionally. I just figured it was dirty power.

I also have a mild but noticable flicker on HD access. The IDE connector to my 5.25" drive sits directly above the video out line.

I am thinking about building an rf shield around the video out section but I don't know how affective this will be without completing the Fariday cage on the back side like most video cards with TV out do. Anyone with rf shield knowledge have any advice?

I am getting screen flicker with hd access also, I am running a 3.5 6.4 gig wester digital and a cdrom off a seperate power supply so it can't be that the power supply in the websurfer can't handle the load, it is some kind of interference with the ide controller. I am going to try some different controllers and see what happens with mine.
