Pointer Problems
Problems with pointing devices

New MessagePointer Problems (modified 0 times) HiRez
Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?

The IR keyboard works fine but the "mouse stick" doesn't work at all.
Other than using a wired pointer, does anyone have any ideas?

Thanx!

Well, I successfully booted Win98 on a WS today, using the internal IDE controller (after installing the required components.) I was afraid I'd have to find a driver for the keyboard, but Win98 was happy as a clam with the standard PS/2 KB and mouse driver. Worked great.

When I first put the websurfer back together there were a couple times that the pointer would just stop working but the keyboard would still work. Figured out it was because my controller had a built in serial that I forgot to disable and was somehow interfering with it, after I disabled it it ran fine. Haven't had a problem since

Yeah, I had a problem with the MouseStick not working. I got it to work a couple of times for a while, but it would quit working a lot. So I took it to CompUSA to exchange it, they almost TOSed me, but I got out OK, with a new keyboard that works! =P

Was having some "sticking" problems with the mouse thingy... found out that if you hold down a key (anykey) it
seems to make the mouse work with no problems... go figure...
