|So, basically it appears that the free version of QNX is not available yet, but will be 'sometime in May' as a free download.|
To me, it would appear that using QNX in that 16 MB DOC would be the perfect solution for a set-top MP3 player/living room browser. You could fit your OS with network and audio support, and some small apps (a feature-limited browser and an mp3 player) all on the Disk On Chip. You use your ISA/PCI slot for a NIC and you're good to go without any hardware hacks, except possibly using an IDE board temporarily to install the OS.
