Howdy all. Found a link which might interest a few of ya.

It's a 4" TFT display which accepts composite NTSC signals. Ready to go "out of the box"- you just have to add a 12VDC, 500mA P/S. It's cheap, too- $119.

Duct-tape this baby on top of your WebSurfer, and you'll be good to go even if you don't have a TV. Resolution kinda sucks, but it's cheap!

Think custom full screen apps with huge fonts and buttons. I can imagine using it for a dash mounted display in an auto mp3 unit with a split list showing a couple lines from your catagory selections and say 3 lines of files in the current catagory or in the queue and a line at the bottom to show what's currently playing. Add a keypad for custom controls (cat up, cat down, file up, file down, queue file, shuffle,......)

after a preset time with no KB input switch to just current file and some simple visualization like a spectrum graph.

This seems like a nice LCD display. If I was sure my WS would run in my car, I'd get myself one of these right away.

Has anybody successfully installed a WS in a car?

I bought one of those exact same displays from Parts-Express over a year ago (for $149), stuck it in a project case from Fry's (tight fit), and it still works great.

I dug it up and hooked it up to my WSP, and it's alright. I wouldn't expect to read a text screen on it, though. It just doesn't have the pixels. I'd guess it's 320x240 or so.

It's not as thin as it looks in the picture. It's the screen sandwiched with the NTSC controller board.

Overall, I'd buy their $199 5" LCD instead.. all packaged and ready-to-use. Mine should arrive soon.

Hmm..a friend was saying he found a 4" NTSC LCD for like 50 bucks in an ad in Poptronics. Maybe you should check that out. I havent seen the ad myself, so no guarantees
