WSP CPU power
How much horsepower does this chip have?

New MessageWSP CPU power (modified 0 times) CyrixInstead
OK, so this MediaGX chipset is supposedly tuned for media -- can the chip, overclocked to at least 266, of course, decode a VCD? how about <shudder> a DivX .avi file? An .asf? As soon as I get my PCI networking running (USB would just have too much overhead, IMHO) I'll be sure to post back, but in the meantime, I'd be curious to see what the most procssor intensive thing this little box can do. by the way, for anyone curious about DivX, it's not the failed standard Circuit City tried to get going, it's the newest form of... distributing... DVD rips. Thy're about the size of a CD and use a version of the MPEG4 compression with mp3 quality audio. If you want to check one out, try a search for "DivX" on gnutella.
